Dorchester Town Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of striker Will Fletcher.
The frontman arrives at The Avenue from Poole Town, where he previously worked with Magpies boss Tom Killick, and has also featured for Hamworthy United and Wimborne Town.
Speaking to Dorset Echo Sport on his new signing, Killick said: “We’ve been playing two out and out strikers and we’ve got three, so I think it’s important in that scenario you have four. I feel the three we’ve got now have all got different qualities, and Will is different again.”
“He’s physically very strong, very good in the air, very good at attacking crosses and just gives us something a little bit different.”
“I’m very aware that to be successful in this league I do feel there has to be a physicality about you to a certain degree, and he’ll very much enhance us with that. I also like his mentality, he’s a strong character - he won’t be fazed by things and he’s got steel about him in terms of his mentality, and that’s what were trying to bring into the club and what we’re trying to achieve in terms of how the group is.”
Subject to FA approval, Will could make his Magpies debut tomorrow evening as we host Bracknell Town at The Avenue.
Welcome Will!
