Dorchester Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Jack Wright.
A central defender who can also operate in midfield, Jack most recently featured for Bridport last season and has impressed in the heart of the Magpies defence during pre-season, starting both recent home friendlies against Weston-super-Mare and Frome Town at The Avenue.
Speaking on our latest summer signing, who has also represented both the Royal Navy and UK Armed Forces football sides, assistant boss James Wood said: “Jack has been excellent in pre-season, he’s acquitted himself really well, he’s a nice lad and again fits the type of player that we want to bring in.”
“He’s young, hungry and wants to give this level of football a really good go, and coming from a service background he’s very fit which is good. He’s a northern lad and has moved down to this neck of the woods - we were notified about him by Emmo and obviously playing for Bridport last season it didn’t go unnoticed that he was standing out.”
“He has trained really well and in all of the friendlies he has done exceptionally well, so he’s going to be a good signing for us and we’re very pleased to get this one over the line.”
Welcome Jack!
