The Magpies signed off pre-season with an impressive performance to secure a deserved 0-2 win over Weymouth.
Captain Jordan Ngalo scored the opening goal in the first half before Olaf Koszela struck late on to round off an enjoyable afternoon over the ridgeway.
New signing Ollie Haste, who earlier today joined the club on a permanent deal, came into the starting XI along with fellow summer signing Wayne Robinson, while Shaquille Gwengwe missed out, as did Harry Redknapp Jr who has unfortunately suffered an ACL injury.
The visitors started brightly and it was Koszela who had the first attempt, seeing his strike saved by the keeper, before Robinson then went close.
Just moments later Ngalo went one better in the 19th minute, seeing his shot take a deflection and beat the hosts goalkeeper.
Weymouth did then have the ball in the back of the net only for it to be ruled out for offside, before Luke Pardoe then had a couple of chances blocked.
Corby Moore then saw a spectacular attempt almost go in only to be tipped away by the hosts keeper.
Into the second half, Koszela saw a close range strike blocked before sub Luke Roberts also saw his chance saved.
In amongst a flurry of substitutions, Koszela grabbed the second goal in the 85th minute, after Tom Bragg's header hit the crossbar before the striker was quickest to react and fire home at the back post.
Weymouth did threaten late on with a free-kick going narrowly wide before Koszela almost made it three with a set-piece of his own saved in injury time.
With our pre-season fixture list now over, next up for Tom Killick's side is the opening day of the new season as we host Havant & Waterlooville at The Avenue next weekend.
