Defender Harry Hodges joins The Magpies

Dorchester Town Football Club are pleased to announce that defender Harry Hodges has joined The Magpies to become our latest new arrival ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

The 20-year-old versatile full-back came up through the youth system at Plymouth Argyle before joining Bristol Rovers last summer, and has also had spells on loan at Gloucester City in the National League South.

First Team coach Robbie Herrera said: “I know Harry well from my time at Argyle. He’s a full-back who can also help us out at centre-back or centre midfield. Harry has good use of the ball and has a good understanding of the game.”

“After his initial pro contract at Argyle he moved to Bristol Rovers and was a first team squad member. He has the energy and criteria that Leigh and myself are looking for to help push our club forward, and we look forward to having him involved.”

Speaking on agreeing to join The Magpies, Hodges said: “I’m happy to have signed on for the upcoming season. Dorchester Town is ambitious football club and I’m impressed with the club’s vision for the future.”

“I’ve kept in touch with Robbie since I left Plymouth and obviously as soon as he explained what the gaffer and his plans were for the club it was something that I wanted to be a part of.”

“We had our first session back on Tuesday night and we’re all excited for the season to start after such a long time away from football. We have a good group of lads who are looking to buy into the new philosophy the coaches have set out and there’s no reason why we can’t go on and do something special this season.”

Welcome Harry!
