Dorchester Town Football Club will welcome the players, supporters and officials of Hamworthy United Football Club to The Clayson Stadium for this Dorset Senior Cup Quarter Final fixture (KO 7:45pm).

Who are The Hammers?
Formed in 1970 by the merger of two local clubs, Hamworthy FC and Trinidad Old Boys, the club took ownership of Hamworthy’s County Ground and lined up in the Dorset Combination. In 2004, after successfully retaining their Dorset Premier League (the renamed Combination) title, the Hammers were promoted to the Wessex League first division.

Winning the League Cup in their first season, Hamworthy have remained at Wessex League level ever since. In 2006, the First Division was remained the Premier Division and this is where the Hammers have played since. Also in 2006, Hamworthy won their only Senior Cup, defeating Poole Town in the final.

One to watch
Former Magpie Dan Cann has been in blistering form this season. Cann, who was a Dorchester player at the beginning of the 2014/15 season, has netted 9 times in the league alone already this campaign.

Have we met before?
The last time the sides met, was a Dorset Senior Cup tie in 2013. The Magpies, under Phil Simkin, fielded a side consisting largely of reserve team players took the lead through Josh Tennant. However, the more experienced Hamworthy side took control and came out 4-1 winners.

Cup run so far
The Magpies left it late to defeat Western League Sherborne Town in the last round. Eder Batista gave Dorchester the lead before Sherborne equalised midway through the second half. With the tie destined for Extra Time, River Smith netted in the 98th minute to secure progression.

Hamworthy received a bye in the first round of the competition, meaning the quarter final contest is their first game of the Senior Cup this season. Last year, the Hammers exited at the first round stage, losing to Verwood Town.
