Striker Hoey signs on one-month loan

Dorchester Town Football Club are delighted to announce that Jack Hoey has joined The Magpies on a one-month loan deal from Weymouth this evening.

The highly-rated striker, who played at youth level with AFC Bournemouth, also featured for AFC Totton and New Milton Town – where he worked with Magpies boss Callum Brooks – and has recently returned after a spell in the USA at Greenville FC and Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina.

Speaking on his latest addition, Brooks said: “Jack is a player that I’ve known for a few years now and have got a history with – I also watched him a couple of times in pre-season, so I know quite a lot about Jack and I know he’s got the right mentality to add to our group at the moment.”

“He’s got good attention to detail, a will to learn, and he’s got a will to win and make an impact on the pitch.”

“I’m aware that with how it’s been we are looking for a boost and I’m trying to make improvements across the club all the time. Now a lot of the improvements we’re looking to make are long term, but when I found out he might be available, I felt we could make an improvement for the next month.”

“I felt the opportunity was right for us and right for Jack, so he will bolster our group, give us more strength in depth and another attacking option, and in a month’s time we will be in a much better place as a whole club and a better position in the league.”

Subject to agreement from The FA, the striker will be available for our FA Cup tie away at Evesham United on Sunday afternoon.

Welcome Jack!
