By: Tom Berry | @TJBerry95

Dorchester Town Football Club will welcome the players, supporters and officials of Beaconsfield Town Football Club to The Clayson Stadium for the opening BetVictor Southern Premier South fixture of the 2019/2020 season (KO 3:00pm).

Who are The Rams?
Founded in 1994, by the merger of two local clubs, Beaconsfield won the Premier Division of the Spartan South Midlands League in 2001. After repeating this in 2004, they won promotion to the Southern League. They stayed in Division One until relegation in 2007, before promotion once again at the first attempt.

They stayed in Division One until 2017. After a name chance from Beaconsfield SYCOB to Beaconsfield Town, The Rams won the East Division to earn their place in the Premier Division. A successful first season at Step 3 saw Beaconsfield finish in a more than respectable 12th position.

One to watch
Former Magpie Charlie Losasso has been a regular for Beaconsfield since signing for the Rams in 2017. A former AFC Bournemouth and Reading player, Charlie was on loan from the Cherries for the latter part of the 2013/2014 season. A former winner of Beaconsfield’s ‘Goal of the Season’ award, Losasso has overcome a number of injuries to become a firm favourite with Rams supporters.

Have we met before?
The clash between the two sides at The Clayson Stadium last season saw The Rams come out on top. Beaconsfield came away with a 3-1 victory in what was a fairly comfortable afternoon. The reverse fixture earlier in the season saw an entertaining 2-2 draw played out with The Magpies coming from behind on two occasions.

Form guide
Beaconsfield finish their pre-season with a record of four victories and three defeats. The reversals coming against Wycombe Wanderers (4-0), Oxford City (2-0) and Thame United (2-1) whilst the wins came against Penn & Tylers Green (3-2), Aylesbury Vale Dynamos (2-0), Bedfont Sports (3-2) and they finished with a 3-1 victory over Bristol Manor Farm.

The Magpies head into the season on the back of a largely successful pre-season. Victories against Bridgwater Town (5-0), AFC Totton (5-0) and Winchester City (5-3) were accompanied by draws against Yeovil Town (1-1) and Portland United (2-2). The only blemish was a 1-0 defeat away to Horndean.

Team news
