Tribute to Graham Fuge

Dorchester Town Football Club were saddened to hear of the recent passing of former player Graham Fuge.

Graham, who was born in Dorchester, was a powerful centre forward who joined The Magpies in August 1956. He made 301 league appearances and scored 178 goals in those league games, and in addition would have undoubtedly also played a considerable number of cup games for The Magpies, until he left the club to join Dorchester YMCA in June 1969.

Graham’s career started at youth level with Coventry City before a move to Birmingham City where he played in their reserve side until his call-up for National Service.

Following his National Service he signed for Dorchester Town in 1956, where Graham was almost a permanent fixture in the our team for 13 years, often topping our goal scoring charts and was a favourite amongst supporters.

Following his time with The Magpies, he then went on to spend three seasons at Dorchester YMCA, during which time he helped them to win their only league championship.

His funeral takes place in Amersham, Buckinghamshire on Friday 31 May and donations are welcome to Alzheimer’s and Dementia charities.

Graham leaves daughters Beverley and Brigitte and son Kevin.

We send our condolences and wishes from everyone at the club to Graham’s family and friends.
