Defender Callum Rose signs new one year contract

Dorchester Town Football Club are delighted to announce that Callum Rose has signed a new one-year contract with The Magpies.

The central defender – who joined the club on a permanent basis last summer having made his debut on-loan from Plymouth Argyle in October 2017 – put pen to paper on the deal earlier this week to become the tenth player to sign up with The Magpies for the 2019/20 season so far.

After extending his stay for another campaign, Rose said: “I’m really happy to sign another contract at Dorchester. After an up and down season, I can’t wait to get the new one started. I’ve got a lot of confidence in the gaffer and I feel like we are going to have a good group of lads next year with a lot of potential.”

“I also want to thank the fans for the support last season, and I hope to see them all cheer us on for the upcoming season.”

Manager Callum Brooks said: “From since I’ve joined the club Callum has been outstanding, and he’s another one who fits into the category of young players who I feel have nowhere near reached their potential.”

“I’m aware that he wasn’t as consistent in the early stages of last season as he would like to be, and that’s something we’re all looking to work on moving forwards. He’s a good lad – he’s coachable, ambitious, and I feel he can only get better.”

“For me, it was just a case of having a chat with Cal, and he’s brought into the vision we’ve got for the club. He’s a talented young man and one I’m really pleased is on board for next season.”
