MATCH PREVIEW: Dorchester Town v Beaconsfield Town

BY: Tom Berry | @TJBerry95

Dorchester Town Football Club will welcome the players, supporters and officials of Beaconsfield Town Football Club to The Clayson Stadium for this Evo-Stik League Southern Premier South fixture (KO 15:00).

Who are The Rams?
Founded in 1994, by the merger of two local clubs, Beaconsfield won the Premier Division of the Spartan South Midlands League in 2001. After repeating this in 2004, they won promotion to the Southern League. They stayed in Division One until relegation in 2007, before promotion again at the first attempt.

They stayed in Division One until 2017. After a name change from Beaconsfield SYCOB to Beaconsfield Town, the Rams won the East Division to earn their place in the Premier Division.

One to Watch
Former Magpies Charlie Losasso has been a regular in The Ram’s side for a few seasons now. The former Bournemouth and Reading player, who was on loan at Dorchester in 2014, won Beaconsfields ‘Goal of the Season’ last year and continued his fine form into the current campaign.

Have We Met Before?
The reverse fixture between the two sides earlier in the season saw an entertaining 2-2 draw. The hosts took the lead before an own goal got the Magpies back into it. The Rams went ahead once more before a late Aaron Rodriguez goal saw Dorchester take a point where they may feel they were unlucky not to take all three.

Form Guide
The Rams have taken four points from their last four games. A draw against Walton Casuals and a win against Gosport Borough sit alongside defeats to Poole Town and Swindon Supermarine.

Since the arrival of Callum Brooks, The Magpies have remained unbeaten. Three wins, against Merthyr Town, Basingstoke Town and Walton Casuals accompany a draw in his first game against Farnborough. The Magpies have also scored a staggering 16 goals in these games.

Team News
Tom Blair returns to contention after his recent suspension. Ben Seymour is also available after missing last weekend’s victory through illness. Captain Neil Martin is also in contention after recovering quicker than expected from injury. Defenders Brennan Camp and Joe Low have ended their loan spells with the club and have joined Weymouth and Frome Town respectively. Luke Winsper remains out through injury.
