CLUB STATEMENT: Supporter & Visitor Safety

Dorchester Town Community Football Club would like to inform its visitors and its fans who visit The Avenue Stadium (Sponsored by Clayson Scaffolding) that their safety is very important when enjoying the facilities and the club has been working very hard to meet its obligations.

By law the club has to obtain a safety certificate for the stadium before matches can be staged. As a club we are committed to working closely with Dorset County Council, Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue, Dorset Police and WDDC Building Control Service who all contribute towards the issue of the safety certificate.

Together the organisations and the club meet regularly as a Safety Advisory Group (SAG) to discuss how the club operates on a daily basis. Once the certificate has been issued the SAG continue to inspect and audit our procedures, our stadium and our management of match-day operations, particularly how we deal with our own fans and visiting fans.

Because of these regular audits and inspections and how serious we as a club take the safety of any visitor to the Avenue Stadium (Sponsored by Clayson Scaffolding) our regular fans may start to see subtle changes to ground regulations, Matchday operations and hopefully an increase in safety support from our matchday ambassadors who are here to assist and advise fans.

Dorchester Town Football Club values everyone’s support and hope that we can work together to ensure we maintain our safety certification each year.

We also value your views on matchday safety and operations. Constructive comments whether good or bad are welcome. Please email to

Thank you
