MATCH PREVIEW: Dorchester Town v Kettering Town

Tomorrow we will welcome the players, officials and supporters of Kettering Town Football Club to The Avenue Stadium for an Evo-Stik League South Premier contest (KO 3.00pm).

The Poppies
Formed in 1872, Kettering have played in the Southern Premier since promotion as champions of the Central division in 2015. Four time winners of the Southern League, The Poppies were a Conference club until 2012, when the club went into administration and were demoted two divisions. Since then, the club have seen a further relegation, before the 2015 promotion.

Form Guide
The Magpies come into the game after two straight defeats. Following up last Saturdays FA Trophy exit at the hands of Heybridge Swifts, with a 3-1 defeat away to Frome Town on Wednesday night.

Kettering on the other hand are unbeaten in nine league fixtures. Their only defeat of the season coming against Weymouth. As a result of this unbeaten run, they currently occupy 3rd position in the league table, behind the Terras and top of the table Kings Lynn. The Poppies made it to the final qualifying round of the FA Cup, losing to Nantwich Town in a replay. Whilst in the Trophy they were not so lucky, losing to Leek Town in the first qualifying round.

Who to Watch
Veteran striker Rene Howe is still knocking in goals for The Poppies, whilst another member of the Kettering old guard, Brett Solkhon is still a thorn is many teams’ sides.

Team News
Luke Winsper may again be ruled out through injury, the midfielder stating that he hopes to be back in the next two or so weeks. Another long term absentee is Crit Clarke, who like Winsper is still unavailable because of injury, as is midfielder Ollie Griggs.

The Magpies will again be without forward Rory Fallon, who is travelling back from international duty, where he was an unused sub in both legs of New Zealand’s unsuccessful World Cup Intercontinental Play Off.
