DORCHESTER Town’s youth teams were the big winners as they hosted the club’s Youth Tournament at the Avenue Stadium.

The six-a-side event saw Maiden Newton, Bridport and Wimborne & Holt come out victorious on Saturday morning in the Under-8, Under-9 and Under-10 tournaments respectively, with Dorchester Magpies finishing runners-up in the younger age group.

But the Magpies dominated the afternoon session, with Dorchester Panthers winning the Under-11s and 12s, and Dorchester Magpies taking the Under-13s’ crown.

It was a similar story of domination on the Sunday, as Dorchester Town took the Under-15s’ crown, edging out rival Dorchester Stars in the final.

Dorchester United also came out victorious in the walking football, beating Dexter FC.

Elsewhere, Harpenden Colts won the Under-14s category, beating Highworth FC.

The afternoon session saw the Ability Counts section, which was won by Poole on a competitive afternoon.

Dorchester Town FC would like to congratulate all winners and runners-up, as well as thanking everyone who attended over the weekend.
