Keith Kellaway Appointed Honorary President of the Magpies

Dorchester Town Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Keith Kellaway as the club’s Honorary President in recognition of his many years of sterling service and support.

Keith will take up the role vacated by the late Stacey Legge who passed away on 30th March 2015.

Chairman of the Magpies, Matt Lucas said today: “This is a fantastic appointment for the club. As we enter a new era in the Magpies story with fan ownership now a reality and now with a new President who I know will help to guide us in the right direction.”

“In my opinion there was no-one better at being the public face of the club when people came in on a match day. “Keith has always had respect of all the staff, supporters and players, and from a club perspective we’re delighted he has accepted the role as club’s Honorary President.”

Keith, whose playing career with the Magpies ended prematurely by injury, was one of the club’s longest-serving employees. After 76 first-team appearances during the 1970s, Keith, returned to the club in 1992 under the leadership of the late Peter Aiken.

Keith, who was the club’s general manager until his retirement in May this year, carried out a number of roles at Dorchester, including 10 years as a director.
