Welcome to the Dorchester Town Youth FC
Dorchester Town Youth FC has teams over a range of age groups with members starting from reception. We are always looking for players and as a club are dedicated to providing football for as many children as is physically possible.
The club has in place an elected committee, consisting of parents and volunteers who are responsible for the management of all affairs of each and every youth team. We have a constitution, rules and codes of conduct which all officials, members and parents should adhere to.
Our website will be able to provide you with some in-depth information on what the youth football club in the county town of Dorset is all about! Find out who runs what team and which department. Originally formed in 1984 as Cosmos Boys Football Club, Dorchester Town Youth now provide football training and competitive football matches for boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 18, with an emphasis, particularly in the early years, on participation and enjoyment. We rely almost entirely on the parents of our players who give generously of their time and effort in coaching, managing teams, refereeing, fund raising activities and carrying out the organisational activities which are performed by the working committee. DTYFC is made up of professional coachers, referees and sponsors.
All our coaches are FA qualified, CRB cleared and first aid qualified. In addition, all actively coach or play at a high level so don’t hesitate and contact one of our reception coaches below for all the information you need in getting your child signed up.
Code of Conduct
The Club has a formal constitution and Codes of Conduct for players, coaches, parents/spectators and team officials, in line with good practice recommended by the Football Association. All of our managers and coaches are required to receive training from the Dorset County Football Association in the various aspects of youth football coaching, which includes child protection.
The Club welcomes players of all abilities and this season sees the introduction of our new Football Development Centre as part of the newly launched academy set-up, which is aimed at providing additional high standard coaching and support for those who are keen to further improve their technique and skills in the sport.
